Aiguille-Du-Midi, Mont Blanc

The Aiguille-Du-Midi lift station and restaurant enjoys a superb position at 3842m overlooking the Chamonix valley and with views of all the surrounding Alps. The cable car to the summit, the Téléphérique de l’Aiguille du Midi, was built in 1955 and it held the title of the world’s highest cable car for two decades. Now it still holds the record as the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world, from 1,035 m to 3842 m.It often closes on days of high winds so if you have the weather window to go up you should do it as it’s very worthwhile. The Aiguille summit contains a panoramic viewing platform, a café and a gift shop
